I had always been fascinated with flight. I vividly remember touring Robert G. Pitts Airport (KAUO) in 1993 with my preschool class. Twenty years later, following an Aviation Management elective my senior year at Auburn, I knew my desire to become a pilot would remain. I began to research the possibility of chasing this dream in Summer 2019. After speaking with friends involved in aviation, I noticed Brown Aero was a consistent name when asked where to begin my training.
I was able to sit down with Regina at KALX and ask an inordinate amount of questions. Every single item was addressed. During a busy day for Brown Aero, Regina, Alex, and Morgan were able to walk me through the process as if I were the only person on their schedule. In hindsight, that’s how it has been every day since. I have always felt valued, and that my goals truly mattered to every staff member, including my CFI.
I received my private pilot certificate in March and am currently working toward my instrument rating. While there are many different avenues to reach specific aviation goals, I would not trade my time at Brown Aero. They prepare, equip, encourage, and ensure that a safe and proficient pilot is molded.
I will always be thankful for the instruction I received and continue to receive at Brown Aero. I would encourage anyone who may have the desire to fly to reach out, ask questions, and know that it is not too late to achieve your goal.
